MELISSA – PERSONAL TRAINER
Melissa strives to help individuals improve their health and fitness in a friendly supportive environment. Her fitness career began taking large group workout classes with around 20 participants per class, she soon discovered that this format of training made it extremely difficult to spend time helping individuals in the way she wanted, so she decided to become a Personal Trainer (and life:lab Small Group Training Coach, of course!) which allows her to give the necessary attention to each client and to coach them to their specific requirements, thus enabling them to better achieve their goals.
Melissa also has focused a huge amount of her studies on specialising in Pre/Post-natal fitness. Through personal experience (herself having two small boys!) she found women are not given much care or advice about what they can do to remain active when pregnant or how to safely recover and gain strength for the challenges of being a mum once baby arrives.
The more clients Melissa works with, the more she is realising that what she enjoys most is helping people move well and be strong enough for the life they live.
Continuing the theme of women’s health Melissa is currently studying to become a specialist in perimenopause & menopause so she can help women through all life stages.
In addition to challenging her fitness in fun ways, Melissa is an advocate of looking after the body in restorative ways too. She regularly attends sound baths which is a form of meditation that helps heal the body at a cellular level. It also gives her a positive energy boost!
